Eileen, I haven't done this yet, but the way to know for sure would be to go into the app store and look for the Accucheck app. If it exists, we're good. Doesn't necessarily cover accessibility but hey, who's counting? <grin>

Hi Doula,

Thanks for the information on the AcuCheck Guide. I plan on looking into the cost & if insurance might cover the strips for it. I am wondering though if it works with an IPhone since that is the phone I use. I mentioned the Touch since its the only Android device I have, but if its a matter of pairing to a smart phone then I would think it should be able to work with an Apple IPhone as well. Of course I don’t own the meter so don’t know for sure but am just guestimating.

Thanks again.

Eileen

I believe that if you didn't use the meter with the app, then you'd
need someone sighted to read it. Eileen, I'm jealous. I'm still
using a Braille Sense U2 and would love to get my hands on a Blr note
Touch. I would think that the app would work with the tablet. And
that's correct, once the educater help me get it paired, I was able to
use it on my own. And my phone reads the information that gets
tranferred from the meter. Just like with the Dexcom, where the app
grabs the info from the transmitter via Bluetooth and that's how it
ends up being accessible.
