There are a few of us using the Dexcom G5 mobile. I have had mine on for
just a week now. Yes it does work with VoiceOver. We can't look at the
complete graph of our readings because it's just a visual image. What we can
do is to open up the app and read the current number. The app updates every
five minutes. So it might say, 138 miligrams per deceleter and rising
slowly. You can set your own alarms so that it will alert you above a
certain number or below a certain number. Inserting the sensor seems like a
lot of steps the first time or two. My first week was a continuous tape
fight and I was also struggling a bit to remember to keep my iPhone with me.
I had some moments where I started to feel like the freedom I'd gained by
goin on a pump was lost by adding the Dexcom. But this second week seems to
be going better for me. I had no training help at all and am not terribly
impressed with the people on the phone so far.
But I have learned a lot in my first week. According to my five finger
sticks a day, I was starting to get disappointed with my A1C results. Now
I'm seeing what's going on in between those sticks and now all I have to do
is to figure out how and what to adjust. <grin>
But back to VoiceOver, you can calibrate your unit yourself; read the alerts
and get just as annoyed by all the alarms as everyone else. <grin> So if
you're interested, you'd get the Dexcom and then install the Dexcom G5 app
on your phone. There are other apps called Dexcom Clarity that are designed
to allow you to share your graphs with your doctor. You can also use the G5
mobile to share your results with anyone else who has the app on their
phone. So if you are troubled by frequent lows, you could, for instance have
a friend or relative also receive those notifications so that they could
contact you to make sure you're okay.
For now, my biggest complaint is trying to get the tap on without wrinkling
it. I've noticed the occasional unlabeled button and I hope I can find an
appropriate place to land that information.

paired with an iPhone.  However, I don't know if it works well with Voice
Over on the iPhone.  Has anyone had experience with this and, if so, can you
