Hello Chad,

If you have access to a diabetes Educator it is best advisable to schedule an appointment with that person or assistance with getting set up with your Dexcom G6 as they may have access to getting monitoring info for your doctor visits through the visits when they set you up. The diabetes Educator should be familiar with the Dexcom G6 app that is very accessible on the iPhone and that person should be able to explain everything you need to know.

The Educator will also show you where and how to apply the sensor and get the QR Codes that you will need to activate your sensor and transmitter.

I have not found it easy to take the picture with the camera phone to get the QR Codes and have had to enter the codes manually. So, to accomplish this I have used the Aira service and I have heard others use Seeing AI from Microsoft and others have used Be My Eyes. This is your choice and you will have to decide what is easiest for you.

Hi all and good morning. I am working on getting a Dexcom CGM, continuous glucose monitor from my Humana insurance. Can anyone explain how to inject the device? I know injecting probably isn’t the right word but curious how this whole thing works. I understand how it sends the information to my iPhone but just want to know how to get everything set up being blind. If anyone can help that’s great. Thanks. Chad
