Hi Danielle,
You don't mention if your insulin needs to be kept cold once you start using it.
Most insulin do not need refrigeration and should be fine while running around. If the type of insulin needs constant refrigeration you will need a cooler type pack and either a jell pack that is frozen or blue ice to keep it cold.
You should also check with the hotel to be sure you have a refrigerator in your room if that is also needed and tell the hotel you need it for medication.
Hopefully there is a refrigerator or you will have to get ice from the ice machine in the ice bucket to keep it cool.
Hope this somewhat answers your question.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Traveling with insulin
Hi everyone,
My name is Danielle McCann and I have type two diabetes. I was looking at different ways to keep my insulin fresh during national convention and was wondering if anyone has suggestions. I’ve looked at the cooling caps and the pouches that have ice packs in them but I’m not sure if those would be the best option as I will have my insulin with me while I am running around the convention. It’s so nice to be part of the group. Looking forward to meeting folks through the listserv and at convention.
