Hi Mary! I am not planning to purchase the guide, since I have no trouble getting the pump to charge. I do exactly what you do. I keep my charging pad plugged in all of the time on my nightstand, so I don't have to worry about whether the ready light is lit.

Regarding the guide for the charging pad-=20 For those of you not caring to pay an additional fee for the guide tool = for the Tandem Mobi charging pad,=20 After plugging the charger in,=20 Make sure the pad lays flat, preferably on a table but I do keep it on = my lap at times,=20 I then wait a few seconds for the pad to warm up which I understand for = sighted people, a light will show allowing one to know that the pad is =
ready) I then hold the pump, facing flat side down but not quite = touching the pad, with the infusion tube pointing opposite that of the = charging cord(almost but not quite a straight line)=20 I then hold the pump barely above the charging pad and gently move the = pump (ever so lightly) until I feel the connecting vibration and then = lay the pump on top of that vibration.=20 It works every time.=20
Question: Are most of you doing this or=20 Are any of the Mobi trainers suggesting that you automatically purchase = one of these guide since you are blind?=20 Just curious.=20 Second, During the Knowledge Is Sweet seminar, the Mobi Trainer = commented that Tandem is not working with any blind group , helping to = make their pumps more accessible,=20 The answer to that, is actually, "Yes."=20 Suggestions From The accessible Insulin Pump task force team is, and has = been, meeting intermittently and corresponding with some of the "higher = ups" when possible.
Most of you know the Accessible Insulin Pump task force Chair who wears = an Omnipod 5.=20
   Finally, I've been wanting to correct this statement that was made = during the seminar but we were muted and I'm sincerely guessing that all = the notes/comments could not be read in a timely manner before their = presentation ended.=20 Overall, the seminar was excellent but I just needed to correct that = statement.
Mary=20

I am using the Omnipod 5 with the iOS app. I have been using it in =3D3D = =3D manual mode because it wasn't yet compatible with the Dexcom G7, = =3D3D =3D although they're promising that in a couple of weeks. When I = switched to =3D =3D3D the Omnipod in 2018, I didn't really think having = a tubeless pump =3D would =3D3D be a big deal, as I'd worn pumps with = tubing since 1991. But =3D now that =3D3D it's been 7 years, I have = really come to lik not having the =3D tubing. The =3D3D iOS app is also = really accessible. Just like with the =3D Mobi, there are a =3D3D few = things that land in funny places on the =3D screen, but it works well. = =3D3D The other thing I like is that you don't =3D have to use Face ID = as many =3D3D times as you do with the Mobi. That is =3D the one thing = that is driving me =3D3D crazy with these pumps which are =3D controlled = by smart phone. Some days it =3D3D really makes me feel like =3D = diabetes runs my life because I wouldn't =3D3D normally use it. It seems = =3D like it just takes so long to get in, by the =3D3D time I try = several =3D times, then the phone jumps somewhere else when I'm =3D3D = trying to enter =3D the pass code, etc. With the Omnipod, you have to = use =3D3D Face ID to get =3D into the app, but not during any processes. = I'm looking =3D3D forward to =3D switching to automated mode in a couple = of weeks. I think =3D3D it's =3D fantastic that we actually have choices =
now.=3D3D20 Veronica

Thanks! It is a challenge getting it to be in just the right place.

BTW, I switched from the Omnipod to the Mobi a month ago and really like = =3D =3D3D =3D3D3D it. My educator showed it to me and asked me to = consider it =3D since she =3D3D =3D3D3D really likes its algorithm much = better. Tandem has =3D done an amazing job =3D3D =3D3D3D making it = totally accessible for us. =3D

FYI,
I received today from Byram Healthcare part of my order of Mobi insulin = =3D =3D3D =3D3D3D pump=3D3D3D3D supplies and found a surprise package = included. =3D It is a thin =3D3D =3D3D3D plastic device=3D3D3D3D that = snaps on over the =3D wireless charging pad and =3D3D has =3D3D3D an = indentation which h=3D3D3D3D =3D elps center the pump in the correct = location =3D3D =3D3D3D for charging And =3D helps keep it f=3D3D3D3D rom = sliding. This device will be =3D3D =3D3D3D =3D particularly helpful to = people who are blin=3D3D3D3D d or have low vision. =3D I =3D3D =3D3D3D = am assuming because I did not know that it was avail=3D3D3D3D =3D able = nor did I =3D3D =3D3D3D place an order for it from Byram that I will =3D = not be charged f=3D3D3D3D or =3D3D it. =3D3D3D I have not seen any =3D = communications from Tandem that this accessory =3D3D is=3D3D3D3D =3D3D3D = now =3D available but apparently it is.
Patricia.
