[Electronics-talk] Help with Grundig Talking attomic watch!

The problem with most of these watches is that the back is fastened in place
by tiny screws that are difficult to remove even for an exsperienced
jewelwer and impossible to remove for a blind person. Some watches have a
back that you can simply pry off with a small screwdriver, but I have not
found any talking watches with this design. But even after removing the
back, the battery is usually held in place by a small metal retainer that's
difficult to remove and even more difficult to reinsert. And Radio Shack
doesn't always have the right replacement battery. So I wait until
Independent Living Aids offers free shipping on all purchases (like they do
now until Dec. 20), and buy one of their cheapest talking watches, which is
probably less expensive than having a jeweler replace the battery in my dead
watch anyway. I have an ever growing collection of dead talking watches of
various designs laying in a drawer.
