[Electronics-talk] talking check writers

It's a good idea especially for blind folks these days to discontinue use
of check writing entirely for security reasons if no other. No part of
anything written on checks has any tamper or forgery protection. This has
been the case for several years and even sighted people who write checks
routinely get ripped off badly. The M.I.C.R. ink and banking fonts are
available for purchase on the internet. Signatures are easily lifted and
copied onto anything else anyone wishes to do, thus making identity theft
all that much easier. That practice just has too many risks connected
with it. Postal Money orders work better than they once did now that the
new money order system is in place. It's also possible to have a tracer
put on a money order in case you don't get what you paid for to find out
where it is and what happened to it.On Fri, 23 Apr 2010,
