[Electronics-talk] SAP channel

It seems to me that whether or not one gets SAP not only depends on having
the button, but also on having the provider sending SAP.
I live in northern New Jersey, and get 3 PBS stations. One used to play the
SAP, but stopped. One does play the SAP. and one uses the SAP for radio for
the blind, reading newspapers and such.
We also used to get SAP on Turner Classic Movies, but have not for a long
time, even on movies I know have it.
When we ask our cable company about it, they have no idea what we're talking
about, though usually their customer service is excellent.

So, for me, if I was choosing a new TV provider, I'd want to know if they
send the SAP signal. But that may be darned hard to find out.
