[Electronics-talk] An Awesome: No Vision Needed, FREE!! Barcode Scanning App

Hello,

Beginning at the top, "Navigation" is the first button, then "hoe" heading,
then "Cards" button then"Scan" button. After double tapping "Scan" then the
top is a "cancel" button then a "Light" toggle button. It is recommended to
turn the light on.

I have had quite good luck, though I sometimes get strange product reports.
Yesterday I scanned some Heinz Ketchup and got some kind of hardware product
report. I'm not sure what causes these weird reports. Mostly, though, the
app works very well. I scanned some vitamins in a health food store last
week and Red Laser told me that I could get the same product for 9 dollars
less on Amazon. Now, I prefer to shop locally, but 9 dollars on a 35 dollar
product was more than I was willing to spend.

Good luck. I hope this helps.

Warmest Regards,

Fred

Hi all!!!
I just got Red Laser and can't find the button that takes the picture of the
bar coad. I am working with an iPhone 4s with IOS 7. How do you scan a bar
coad?

many here may recall I also asked about any recommendations. At the time, I
found nothing that worked with any degree of reliability and plenty of
wasted time when scanning without vision and was really frustrated. They
happened to talk about this on ACB Main Menu about an hour or so ago and
demoed a couple of scanners, one of which I decided to try out and had
absolutely beautiful success without any vision and believe it or not,
unlike most of these apps, this required no light as I tried it both in
lighted rooms and without light!

without vision, I strongly and I emphasize strongly recommend turning the
app's light on. To do this, Swipe once to the right after you double tap
the scan button and you will hear light off. Double tap and it will turn the
light on. I was able to extremely easily and quickly scan thin bottles, wide
bottles, cans, dressing bottles, liquid hand soap containers, detergent
bottles, shampoo bottles, boxes, materials that were packaged in bags, and
even the container that my dog's toothpaste comes in. I simply held the
device about 3-4 inches away from the product relatively well centered
unless I could feel the bar code label and within about 1.5-2 seconds I
would get the info. It works really well with VO.

scanner and it is the only one that I have found works really nicely,
quickly, and non-frustratingly:) without any usable vision (and as mentioned
without the need to worry about the light in the room:))!
