Chris,
You can record a message on the labels as many times as you need. As far as
pealing the label off of something and sticking it on to something else, it
is not possible. However, I use 3x5 index cards cut in half. I stick the
Pen Friend label close to one edge and then punch a hole along the opposite
edge. I can then put a rubber band, twist, string, yarn, etc. through the
hole and attach it to an object. Paper clips also work well for attaching
the index card to papers, folders, books, etc. You can even cover the index
card and Pen Friend label with packing tape to make it more durable. The
Pen Friend is able to read the labels through the packing tape.
I also have the Pen Friend laundry labels, and have not been impressed.
Most fell off after 1 to 3 washings.

Subject: [Electronics-talk] Seeking Info about the Pen Friend
Hi All,
I know there has been some talk on this list in the past about this
product, usually questions about where to purchase extra materials, but I
happened to see a video on the Pen Friend and was curious about something
that they did not mention and does not seemm to be in the descriptions I
have seen in the catalogs that include this product. Can the labels be
re-used or are they one time use only? In other words:
a) Can you re-record new messages on the same label or is there only the
ability to record one thing?
b) Can you remove a label from one thing and place it on another? As an
example, say you purchase a can of corn, label the can, later, after you
use the can of corn and purchase another (because you really love corn and
can not wait to get more:)), can you remove the label from the old can and
place it on the new can or is it some type of adhesive that starts to lose
its stick if removed and affixed to something new? Hopefully that made
sense:).
Have a fantastic week all!
Chris
