Okay.  aS you know, I have the X1 DVR.  The answer to your question is this.  IF you get the box, there are jacks on the back of the box that will allow you to make analog connections to the box in to a stereo receiver.  Be aware, however, that you are better off using HDMI if you can.  However, if you cannot, you have the option of using a screw type coax connector such as was found on the old cable boxes and you can connect this to and older television and it will work just fine.

Be aware that X1 is not a customer install proposition and therefore, you will have to have at least and older TV to allow the sighted installer to do the work.

In short, once the box is installed, you can do pretty much the kind of connection you want.
