Hi,
Just have to say that I Love my Lock-n-lock containers,. I have used them
for years and my adult children use them too. They do not stain and they do
not hold orders and they keep food very fresh.

Hi,

I have two good suggestions for you. One is the Lock 'N Lock pantry set
available on QVC. It has 6 containers, all square in footprint shape. The
two largest can accommodate a 5 pound bag of flour, sugar, etc. They are
airtight, watertight, etc. I've had mine for years, and never had an issue
with a plastic smell. They are also BPA free and very affordable. The
medium size containers are great for rice, tea bags, and lots of stuff that
you'd want to keep in the pantry, hence the name.

The other is a 7-piece ceramic canister set from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Now,
I will say that the smaller pieces are very small, good for spices. The
largest one I don't think will hold a 5 pound bag, but they are quite
attractive to sit out on the counter. We use ours for our coffee corner. So
coffee, Splenda, etc. is right there when we need it. These too are
airtight. The ones we have are black. I don't know if they have other
colors. The set costs about $20 or so, and so does the Lock 'N Lock set, or
they did when we got them.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Since NFB doesn’t yet have a low-tech products listserv, thought I’d start
here. First, does anyone still make a Sharp talking calculator—I loved the
male voice, and it was really a quality piece of equipment; or, might it be
available gently-used?

Now for the extremely-low-tech question: After having my inexpensive plastic
set of canisters for 20 years, and finding that it leaves a bit of an
off-smell to flour, I’ve decided it’s time to part with what I have, perhaps
in favor of some kind of airtight metal canister set. My prerequisites: the
biggest should comfortably hold a 5-pound bag of flour; the middle-sized, a
5-pound bag of sugar; and the next, a 100-count box of tea. I’d prefer
airtight, and not cheap-quality, something I can either hide in the cupboard
or stack on the kitchen counter. Wish I’d thought to ask about the metal
canisters and taken down some info when I saw them at a rehab center. Any
suggestions about these two items, greatly appreciated, since I literally
spent 2 hour plus on Amazon without success. Thanks!
