[Electronics-Talk] My Review of the ProxTalker Electronics Braille Labeler

I think there are some people who have difficulty holding a stylus as it
cramps their hands. Alignment of the tape within a Perkins challenges some I
have known; the labeler that once was and may still be available for doing
this often cuts the tape rather than labeling or other issues like that. The
pressing of the keys on the ProxTalker is very easy; the quality of the dots
is better than about any I have consistently seen and it cuts each label
quite nicely. Is that worth the money? I think many of us will say no but as
Dave said, there are advantages that sometimes will make the ProxTalker a
worth have. For me I was extremely impressed with the demo I saw and if it
cost half the price it does, I probably would make the investment. As it is,
I do not make enough tape labels to make this worth my investment. It is a
very well designed tool though and I am glad to have finally seen it as
there was lots of build up for it as it was being produced.

But there must be some major advantage or advantages or how does one justify
that high cost when one can make good labels almost free?

Mostly it does the same thing, but would be easier for some. It isn't either
or, it is a different way to produce labels.
