[Electronics-Talk] Experiences with the iPhone 7, and the lack of a headphone jack

Here are a couple of things my wife has run into since she got her iPhone 7.

First, we went on a trip, and in the spirit of packing lightly, she only
brought one pair of headphones, namely the Lightning attached earbuds
that came with her iPhone 7. On the plane, she wanted to watch a movie
on the screen in front of her, but it only took a 3.55MM, so she read a
Kindle book instead. Therefore, in the future we'll know to bring either
two pairs of headphones or just a pair with the 3.55MM jack and the
dongle that came with her iPhone 7.

We have an audio patch cable in our car, and of course it's just got a
3.55MM jack on it. Keeping track of that dongle when she's getting in
the car and wanting to listen to a podcast is just something she doesn't
want to deal with, so we're going to buy another one of those pig tails
and just leave it attached to the patch cable in the car.

I am aware of the Apple AirPods, but since my workday is longer than 5 hours, I can’t wait for them to recharge. I am also aware of the included adapter, but that just seems like an accident waiting to happen.
