[Electronics-Talk] ovens

The two things I would look for is to be sure that buttons, even if under a
seemingly flat screen, require some pressure, and also see if you can find
out if the oven starts at the same temperature each time it starts.

Our oven has a flat membrane with buttons under it, but they actually have
some tactile feedback when one pushes on them. I made small labels using
transparent labeling tape to put on each button and they seem to stick
fairly well. Also, whenever we start our oven, it starts at 350 degrees so
I know how to set it to cook that perfect frozen pizza which is one of my
specialties. <smile>

If it is a flat top stove, there can be some complicated burner
configurations that let burners be either small or large. In the cases I
saw, this could be managed, though. It seems somewhat common for burners to
have the old knobs that one turns while the oven is controlled digitally
with buttons under a membrane. There may be some that are just
touch-sensitive, though, so watch out for those.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Ours is barely working. What accessible features do I want to look for in
buying another one?
I haven't ever had to buy an oven before so get me smart.
