Although it sounds like the adapter you need is not expensive, here is what I have found.  Just for the fun of it, I downloaded a book using BARD Mobil on my iPhone.  After doing that, I connected my iPhone to my computer with the USB to Lightning cord that I use for charging my iPhone.  Many pictures that had been taken on my iPhone were recognized on my computer.  However, I could not find the file that contained the book I just downloaded.  I also tried the "FILES" app on my iPhone.  I could not find it there, either.

I do not claim to be an expert on the iPhone although I have some knowledge and experience.  There may be a way to find the BARD Mobile books, but it is not readily obvious to me.  As you probably know, the iPhone is not like an Android or even the old Windows Mobil phone devices.  The files that you can access are more tightly controlled.  Also, if you get the right adapter, I don't know what limitations there might be in terms of your iPhone recognizing your jump drive as an external drive.  I am not saying that I know for sure that what you want to do is impossible, but there are questions that you should ask before you spend money and time on an adapter.  If we knew exactly what you were trying to do once you get the book on a jump drive, we might be able to suggest another strategy that we are more certain would work.  For example, if you want to move a book to one of the recent versions of a Victor Reader Stream, you should be able to use your phone as a Personal Hot Spot and connect your stream to it.  You could then download the book directly into your stream.

But how would the USB camera help?  I want the audio transferred not the video.  There is no video, it's audio books, 52 in total.

 This is the one I use. Works all right. With the power adapter, can be used with a larger external drive.
