[Electronics-Talk] Adding an External Indoor Antenna to a Toshiba Fire TV Model

I would have never thought that the blindness organizations should have
anything to do with this, either. Pam.

Hmm, I give it never occurred to me that this was an issue that should have
been taken up by the blindness organizations or that this impacted blind TV
viewers more then sighted TV consumers. The lack of radios that can pick up
TV signals impacts everyone and not just the blind. Plus the blind can
acquire a TV just like the sighted. There's also the case that this content
is now available through so many other sources.

The blindess advocacy organizations are at least partly to blame for this
situation. When the FCC originally proposed digital TV in the early 2000's,
they just sat on their collective butts and uttered nary a word of protest
that this change would adversely affect blind consumers. Shame on them.
More than a decade after the switch from analog to digital TV, nobody has
yet been able to develop a small, Walkman style radio that can receive
digital TV broadcasts. NASA is talking about sending humans to Mars, yet
major radio manufacturers like CCrane, Sangean and Sony can't figure out
how to make a functional TV band radio. Truly unbelievable.
