Subject: Opportunity for Visually Impaired Students
Dear University Coordinators of Student Disability Resource Centers:
We are looking for some people-oriented, tech-savvy, college students
(who happen to be visually impaired) who want to gain a marketable
skill in order to work while earning their degrees. Lighthouse Works
is a nonprofit business enterprise of Lighthouse Central Florida in
Orlando. Our mission is to provide training and competitive job
opportunities for adults with vision loss. We offer training for jobs
in the customer service and contact center industries. We have trained
dozens of individuals over the past year and currently employ ten of
them in our on-site Customer Care Center. We anticipate additional
positions opening over the next 3 to 12 months.

Your students, who are legally blind, may take our courses free of
charge by registering with their local district office of the Division
of Blind Services (DBS). I've attached a list of DBS District Office
for your convenience. Your student will meet with a DBS Counselor and
request a referral to our training program in Orlando. Tuition, travel
and lodging/dining expenses, if needed, will be covered by DBS for
qualified students. Participation in Customer Service Basics will not
jeopardize the student's college-related benefits.

Our next Customer Service Basics class will be offered August 13-23 in
