Hello again, ladies and gentlemen. None of you really know me relative to my interests and hobbies, but among them is the topic of history in all its phases. The subject line cuts to the chase, so to speak, regarding Christian music history. Here is the question that has been bugging me for several months now. Would it be presumptuous to declare that the beginning of what we know as Southern Gospel music began with the original Chuck Wagon Gang, or possibly with the Blackwood Brothers? The Chuck Wagon Gang made their first recordings in Dallas, Texas in 1936 while the Blackwood Brothers made theirs in 1946 in the studios of station KMA in Shenandoah, Iowa. Was just wondering if anyone has a keen an interest in this subject as the undersigned? Thanks for any input. Your Christian brother, Paul

P.S. Does anyone know where I can get copies in any audio format of some of the first Blackwood Brothers recordings made in 1946? I have an excellent collection of early Chuck Wagon Gang recordings. Thanks again. Paul
