Hello and good evening to my fellow North Americans, and good Saturday to the rest of you. I hope that your day went well or is going well.

Here's a short update on Carol Taylor. She is in a private room, and is to see a urologist and go to the rehab wing of the hospital to learn how to adjust to the resultants of her herniated disk surgery. She sounded more normal this evening than last night. On her behalf, thanks for your prayers, and please continue them.

Beginning Sunday evening, this space will be given over to short sermonettes that the undersigned has collected over the years, but not to worry, they're aren't tedious with a lot of big theological words and phrases that the average Christian can't understand or fathom. However today we have a poem by my favorite poetess, Helen Steiner Rice, entitled "I Do Not Go Alone," rendered as follows:

If Death should beckon me with outstretched hand
And whisper softly of an unknown land,
I shall not be afraid to go,
For though the path I do not know,
I take Death's hand without fear,
For He who safely brought me here
Will also take me safely back.
And though in many things I lack,
He will not let me go alone
Into the valley that's unknown.
So I reach out and take Death's hand
And journey to the Promised Land.

And now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, throughout the night or day and especially in these last days in which we live. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
