I agree with all this, and will add that many times doctors pray before
procedures, and people pray for them. This can result in blessings for the
doctor and the patient.

I agree with Maurine that miracles do happen today. I am a big believer in
the laying on of hands, however when I do it for people, I ask them what
they would like prayer for. So if I do see someone blind or crippled or
whatever, I don’t assume they want physical healing unless they specifically
say so. I believe in the movement of the Holy Spirit, so if I am led to pray
for people I do, but I always take them into consideration first and ask
what they would like prayer for.
As for physical healing, I am not attached whether I am or not. Sure, I will
ask for it from time to time, but I am not attached to the results. it’s
more of a “why not?” kind of thing, and if someone does want to pray for me
I do allow it but I also grew up with it so it doesn’t make me feel
uncomfortable because they are just showing love. However, if they are doing
it out of pity that is another story.
there are times I wish my glaucoma were healed, but not because of the site
but because of the perpetual pain I am in all the time, meaning physical
pain feeling the pressure behind my eyes. Surgery hasn’t really helped as
sit should have.
I do not believe in the ideas of Christian Scientists. All I know is they
don’t believe in doctors, and doctors have helped me a lot. I think a
combination of medical and spiritual is the way to go. You can’t have one
without the other in my opinion. I mean, the book of Ecclesiastes says to go
see a doctor, in so many words, so God must have a plan for doctors.
God bless,
Christine
