Here is your latest bulletin from Museum of the Bible which I hope you

your sighted friends or spouses, have them look at the pictures.  
Mention was made here of Eric Liddel.  After his stint in the Olympics 
and during WWII, he went to China.  One of the boys then who knew him 
wrote a book called "A Boy's War" which I have the pleasure of having 
on tape, read by David Twitchell, the author, who knew Mr. Liddel 
personally.  Anyway look and enjoy.  Paul

Dear Paul,

One of the greatest joys I experience in this “Museum of the Bible 
adventure” is the opportunity to discover more about the Bible every day!

It’s a delight to come into a deeper understanding of the extraordinary 
role the Bible has played — and IS playing — in history, in the arts, 
in literature, in politics, and in people’s everyday lives.

In fact, did you know the Bible greatly influenced some of the most 
well known athletes to ever compete in the Olympic games?


   1. Scottish athlete, Eric Liddell — whose Olympic story is 
chronicled in the 1981 Oscar-winning film Chariots of Fire — was best 
known for his running ability. But another great strength? His belief in God!

He said, “The secret of my success is that I run the first 20 meters as 
fast as I can. Then, for the second 200 meters, with God’s help I run faster.”

   2. She’s the most decorated U.S. gymnast, man or woman, in history! 
Shannon Miller is the only female athlete to be inducted into the U.S. 
Olympic Hall of Fame TWICE!

But even this champion had obstacles to face — and one of her greatest 
challenges was loneliness. Shannon says that her mom would write her 
note cards with Bible verses on them that Shannon could read through 
when she was lonely and homesick. Her favorite? 2 Samuel 22:33: “God is 
my strength and power; and he maketh my way perfect.”

Shannon credits that Bible verse for helping her land on her feet at 
the end of her floor routines!

There are so many great stories of men and women whose lives and 
stories, victories and defeats, have been shaped and influenced by the Bible.
