[Faith-talk] Ridiculous!

We are all reading the same Bible. Gospels were written by different people for different crowds. We can't all read things the same way. Everyone needs to hear the story in their own "language"so to speak like when the Tower of Babel fell. I speak somewhat vague here but like what is written here by posters is all interpreted differently by each person. From my experience every time I read the same Bible, same passage I get a different understanding than I did before. God speaks to me through his word what he wants me to know. If we could read it like Moby Dick and understand it through the first time around why would we want to keep reading it again and again? Why would it be wrong to be in a worship service where there was no scripture read, no Sunday school to reinforce what was read and preached about. Why would worship matter at all if you could just read it once literally and understand it? The Bible isn't a static thing is the living word correct? Does that mean that it not only helps us live but continuously renews us by reading it? Jesus is called the living word, and we call our Bible the word. Unlike other books I read passages come to life for me and help me live my life because I can put myself into them. It is comfort to know that someone in the past had the same struggle. yes it also stands me that we continue to struggle the same struggle. But I think it is very important to know the culture from when the Bible was written. Look at how many translations are out there. Lots of churches use the message Version. If we really want to get real we should all be reading our Bibles in Greek and Hebrew not English. Everyone is reading and interpreted book whether you think you're reading it literally or not. God was writing these messages to his people at that time when they needed to hear it. God inspired, God breathed whatever you want to say it was still mortal man that wrote those books, and who chose which books that were written became a part of the Bible or not. Even the Catholic Bible which is probably one of the "older" put together Bibles has gone through revisions since it's first hand written copy.
Personally I'm very grateful for Martin Luther who made sure that common folk like us could read the Bible for ourselves. And I'm thankful for others at that same time who brought The living breathing word to us. Otherwise only priests and pastors still would be reading it to all christians.

Because most people don't understand it anyway correctly. But, we are all entitled to what we believe. And, no one is going anyone her saying that they can or cannot serve as a minister. So, what's the deal?
