Board of Trustees to Conduct Interviews, Select New President

PRESS RELEASE
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Oct. 25, 2011) – The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind will hold a public school board meeting Nov. 3 – 4 at 8 a.m. in which the Board of Trustees will interview seven candidates for the school’s next president. Location of the meeting is the Music Building on campus at 207 North San Marco Avenue; visitors can enter through the Genopoly Street entrance.
A brief business session will be held prior to the interviews on Nov. 3. Following the interviews on Nov. 4, the Board of Trustees will announce its final selection for the school’s new leader.
The candidates who will be interviewed on Nov. 3 beginning are:
• Shelley Popson Ardis – Executive Director of Technology Services, Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine, Fla.
• Jeffery Mark Battle – High School Principal, Tennessee School for the Deaf, Knoxville, Tenn.
• Steven J. Gettel – Superintendent, Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind, Great Fall, Mont.
• Stan Gustetic – Administrator of Allied Health Services, Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine, Fla.
The candidates who will be interviewed on Nov. 4 are:
• Jeanne Glidden Prickett – Superintendent, Iowa School for the Deaf, Council Bluffs, IA
• Daniel S. Wenzel – Center Director, Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Janesville, Wis.
• Rebecca Hilding Wilson – Principal, Deaf Department, Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine, Fla.
