Dear Friends:

I am forwarding the information below from Sharon Maneki. We will discuss this letter-writing campaign tomorrow at the chapter meeting, but for those of you who feel that you can take the initiative and write letters on your own behalf to your delegates and senators, please feel free to use the information below to do so. Thank you.

Chris

Hi Chris,

The chapter needs to organize a letter writing campaign to Delegates and Senators. The campaign needs to be completed by March 4. Here are the details.

This year both of our bills will be heard in the same committees. In the house it is health and government operations (HGO) and in the senate it is judicial proceedings (JPR). HB 285 and SB 642 allows persons who feel they have been discriminated against by a place of public accommodation may take their case to court rather than having to go to an administrative remedy such as the human relations commission.

HB 580 and SB 596 expands the definition of a place of public accommodation to include the internet.

If you live in Baltimore City write to the following Delegates, the address is Lowe House Office Building, Annapolis, MD 21401: Chairman Peter Hammen (room 241), Nathaniel Oaks (room 317), Shawn Tarrant (room 411).

If you live in Baltimore County write to the following Delegates: Eric Bromwell (room 415), William Frank (room 213), Patrick McDonough (room 310), Dan Morhaim (room 362), Shirley Nathan-Pulliam (room 309).

If you live in Anne Arundel County: Robert Costa (room 159), Nicholas Kipke (room 164).

If you live in Baltimore City write to Senator Vice-chairman Lisa Gladden (room 2E), Miller Senate Office Building, Annapolis, MD 21401.

If you live in Baltimore County write to Senators James Brochin (room 221) James Senate Office Building, Norman Stone (room 216) James Senate Office Building and Bobby Zirkin (room 301) James Senate Office Building.

Thank you,
Sharon Maneki
