[Greater-baltimore] Orioles on the Radio

Hello Mike,

I am aware of this change and have discussed taking action on it with Melissa Riccobono and some others, but haven't moved yet. The last time the Orioles were on this particular station I was told by Mark Ondayko, who was then working there and is a friend to the Federation, that the delay is a national policy of CBS Radio over which neither the Orioles nor the local station have any control. I think our first step is to check and see if that's true. We must then decide whether to go after CBS Radio or to work with the Orioles to seek another solution. I have heard that in some parks, for example Fenway in Boston, fans can get a receiver that gives them the live feed of the broadcast rather than the delayed one. I believe a small deposit or leaving your ID with the proper officials is required but that's something I personally am willing to do. It may be that getting the Orioles to implement something like that will be easier than trying to get CBS Radio to change its policy or give our local station an exemption. Or we can do both, but I suspect the CBS Radio battle will be a longer one. These are my thoughts. I would appreciate help with this as my busy schedule has so far prevented me from contacting either the station or the Os front office. Nonetheless as a fan I will get to it if no one else does.
Chris

It is my understanding that Orioles baseball is moving back to FM and will once again be delayed by 16 seconds.
Is anyone aware of this and has anyone made contacts with the station to protest?
I think this is not just an issue for blind people, but for the hundreds of people who listen to the radio at the game.
We should make our feelings known.
Personally, I won't be going to games with the sixteen second delay because I never know what's going on.
Perhaps we should contact the station to see if they can send it out live?
