First of all, you should find some settings in your email client to
leave a copy of your messages on the server.  This way, they won't
disappear from google after you check them.
In basic html view with Jaws, the messages should appear as links.
What version of Jaws are you using?  If for some reason they don't,
just arrow down till you get to the subject, and hit enter.  By the
way, you'll need to press enter on the subject, not the name.  Also,
once you get a message open, there should be q quick reply edit box
there.  If you want more options, you can always use Alt R to take you
to the reply link when in basic html.  You can also press Alt C for
compose etc.  I am currently replying to this message using Gmail's
web interface.
