Greetings All,

I begin my field experience next semester which will be with the same agency
for three semesters. I met the field representative at the School of Social
Works orientation. One of the first thing she asked was if I just used at
cane. I told her that a present I did; however, I had applied and was
expecting a guide dog before the next semester began. She did not comment
too much at that so later I began to wonder if this may cause a problem with
my placement.

I have discussed this with my husband, who is NAGDU's president, and he
suggests that I tell my field rep that I would like to be the one to discuss
my placement with the agency I am to be placed with. I have also applied
for a Title IV-E scholarship so if I receive that I will be place in some
sort of residdential environment for children. Now, for the real reason I
am writing. If any of you work in a residential environment and have a dog,
please share your experience with me such as do clients come into your
office for counseling? If so, where do you put the dog? How receptive is
your working environment? And any other information you would share I
would be grateful.

Thanks,
Merry Schoch
