NFBI At Large Chapter
Minutes of Meeting held Sunday September fifth, 2021
Members Present: President Dave Meyer, Marilyn Green, Leslie Hamric,
Secretary Bill Reif, , Debbie Pittman, Danny Mandrell, Maurice Tanter,
Yvonne Agyarko. Guests: Presenter Jeanetta Price, Missy Hagan, Cam eel
Richardson, and Brian Patton.
The meeting opened with a what is happening in which members could
share successes, health concerns or other things they want to share.
Danny mentioned that his sister and niece have both developed covid-19.
Debbie had 3 great nephews and a niece who had covid-19 but are now well.
Jeanetta Price, who is the three-time elected President of the NFB
Community Service Division and owns the nonprofit company Blind Girl
Magic, presented regarding the way in which her company started
through t-shirt sales. The company offers one-on-one training through
Jeanetta and volunteers in social skills, adjustment-to-blindness, and
technology skills. She plans to soon expand beyond t-shirts to many
other products with similarly positive inspirational messages. Jeanetta

Dave led the Chapter in reciting the NFB Pledge.
The minutes of the meeting held Sunday August first 2021 were read
through the zoom screen sharing option and approved as amended. One
amendment will clarify that chapter dues are two dollars per year.
Marilyn moved, and Linda seconded, a motion to again table presentation
of the May meeting minutes until Secretary Reif received further
information necessary to establish attendance and other information
documenting who attended and what happened. The motion passed.
Dave reported that the September Presidential Release was not yet
available in a form he could play.
Marilyn presented the State Report, thanking those who attended the
August 28th Board Meeting in Lisle. She reminded people our convention,
which is themed stronger than the pandemic, will take place October
22nd through 24th at the Sheraton Lisle Naperville Hotel. The online
registration form is accessible and should be completed there. Those

encouraged people to pay At Large dues through the form, which would
pay their Chapter membership through December 31, 2022. We had not yet
been assigned a national or an IABS rep. Debbie is working on the
Braille is Beautiful script and can be contacted at 7 7 3-2 0 3-1 3 9
4. Registration deadline is October 7, after which convention
registration moves from $5 to $20 and $5 is added to the cost of each
meal, including the banquet. Finally: Marilyn mentioned the Boards
adoption of Covid-19 protocols, including a requirement that a negative
test result be emailed to pattischang at gmail.com within 72 hours of convention.
Dave asked about the At Large Pizza Party. Marilyn said we are
negotiating with the hotel for a buffet or a Grab and Go meal option
Friday night because the hotel restaurant will be extremely understaffed.
The State Board, having won last years Battle of the Chapters, has
chosen fight songs as the theme. The At Large Chapter voted to perform
Eye of the Tiger. Dave will mail the lyrics to At Large Chapter members
whose emails he has. Others should contact him at datemeyer at mysero.net.
Next Chapter Meeting is set for Sunday October 3rd at 7:00 PM.
September Presidential Release and October if available will be played then.
