Jayhawk Chapter Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 4:15 pm. 

An abbreviated version of the presidential release was played.

State Report: The hotel that we are using for state convention will not let us check in until 3:00 pm. Checkout is 11:00 am. no exceptions, but they will store luggage. 

Some convention plans are as follows: Friday afternoon from 1:00-4:00 there will be a tech workshop featuring updates to iOS 13 and social media. following that, will be a legislative seminar where both federal and state legislative initiatives will be discussed. In the evening, there will be hospitality followed by resolutions committee and nominating committee meetings. Saturday meetings will begin at 9:00 am, and there will be a banquet followed by entertainment at night. A business meeting will commence at 9”00 Sunday morning. 

Minutes: Approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s Report: No Treasurer’s report was given.

Fund Raising: Report on trivia night; We raised $230.

Other fund raising ideas: Restaurant give-back makes fairly good money and not a lot of work. 

Old Business: Rob reported that the proclamation for Meet the blind month went very smoothly. 

We are still trying to arrange rides to the state convention.

New Business: Elections; Charles made a motion to elect the slate of officers recommended by the nominating committee. Second by Tamara. Motion passed.

We discussed having our holiday party at Windham Place on Saturday the 7th of Dec. from 1 to 6 pm. Renée will look into catering part of the meal. Members will contribute.
