[Job-Discussions] resume questions

Hello
I had a similar arrangement with a non-profit company whom I did one-shot
"projects" for pay with. We worked out a title, and listed each period I did
the projects for on the same line then compiled all the duties under the
same heading. (I.e. "February 2014, March 2015, August 2016-January 2017")

The other way you could list your work is "Work History" and "Volunteer
History".

Either way, good luck with your resume!

Sincerely

Andrew Harmon

It's a chronological resume. The most recent one was almost 3 years ago.
They
were at different places, but I did similar things at 3 out of the 4 places.
They were spread out over 2 school years. I have absolutely no paid work
experience.

Hello
On the question about the experience, it honestly depends on several
factors:

1. Is it a chronological or a functional resume? The former is a typical
resume
which includes experience most recent to least recent, while the latter is a
potentially abbreviated resume that focuses on your experience and skills
rather
than specific time periods. (Please correct me if I'm getting this wrong,
Dick
and/or anyone else).
2. How long ago was the experience, and was the particular job part of a
series
of"gigs" within the same workshop, or different separate jobs over time?
3. Do you have a lot of paid experience? If not, I would personally just
ignore
separating out the experience that way, and just list whatever is relevant
to
the job. You might want to list a separate section for any special honors or
unique volunteer experience like serving at the appointment of a state
governor
or made Dean's List, etc., etc.

As to the references, almost every single job I've ever applied for wants a
minimum of 3 references, at least 2 of which were work related. I think
you're
just fine in regards to references.

Hope this helps

Subject: [Job-Discussions] resume questions

Hi all,
I hope this is okay to post hear, sorry if it isn't. I'm working on updating
my
resume and have a few questions. When I was in high school I did 4 different
work placements, 2 as part of a career development class and 2 just arranged
through the school. These were not paid placements, but when I created my
resume
during this career development class I put them under work experience,
should I
leave them there or put them under volunteer experience heading? Also, would
6
referances be enough? If not, then any ideas of who else I could ask? So far
I
have my bosses from 3 of my work placements, my former high school EA, my
former
restbite worker who's also a friend, and one of my former high school
teachers
who's also a friend. I look forward to any
thoughts/suggestions/feedback/help
anyone can provide me, it will be grately appreciated!!!!!! Thanks
Madison
