This position performs professional human resources work for the Minnesota Zoo. The position's responsibilities include talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, employee training and development, compensation and benefits, and records and data systems management activities.

A few of the job responsibilities include:

  *   Provide talent acquisition services to managers and supervisors ensuring hiring needs are met within established time frames, State policies and guidelines and Zoo procedures.
  *   Provide talent management services to managers and supervisors ensuring appropriate job analysis, audit and classification and compensation placement in accordance with State standards.
  *   Provide employee and labor relations services to managers, supervisors and employees so that employment related issues are resolved in a timely manner and the Zoo is in compliance with all related laws, bargaining unit agreements, personnel plans, policies and procedures.
  *   Assist with developing and delivering Zoo-wide new hire orientation, employee training and development, and career development programs so that employees understand their roles and performance expectations, have the knowledge and skills needed to successfully perform their work, and are aware of career opportunities within the State's system.
  *   Administer all benefits programs and serve as the Designated Department Insurance Representative (DDIR) so that staff receive all appropriate benefits at the correct level in a timely manner.
  *   Assist with providing workers compensation management services to employees, supervisors and managers so that employees receive timely and appropriate care, reporting is accurately done within designated time frames, unsafe issues or practices are corrected, costs are managed, and the Zoo is in compliance with all related laws, bargaining unit agreements, personnel plans, policies and procedures.
