Job Summary

Job Summary
This position exists to assist State Services for the Blind (SSB) in developing an accessible online training curriculum for vocational rehabilitation staff that ensures staff understand and apply federal and state policies, agency expectations and standards, and strategic goals and initiatives.  This position will modify an existing curriculum to meet the needs of SSB.  This will include meeting with a group of SSB staff for input, mapping out an overall plan, modifying and developing materials, creating SharePoint workflows for onboarding and ongoing training, and evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, education, training, human resources, or related field as determined by the appointing authority.
Or
Three years' work experience* in the field of vocational rehabilitation.
*Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, education, or related social service or other closely related field as determined by the agency can substitute one year of experience; master's degree substitutes for 18 months of experience; PhD substitutes for 24 months of experience.

Ability to assimilate new information and recommend relevant training and program development strategies
Skill in project management to develop, lead, and monitor complex projects
Skill in organizational and time management with the ability to anticipate and adapt to unforeseen problems and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Skill in e-learning platforms, web delivery tools, and SharePoint
Skill in developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive training program
Knowledge of promoting cultural competency training to increase staff diversity and inclusion
Expertise around Vocational Rehabilitation service delivery and practices for individuals with disabilities, including community supports, career planning, supported employment and independent living
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to vocational rehabilitation policy issues and practice, disability service and organizations
Knowledge of developing accessible content that conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Additional Requirements
This position requires successful completion of the following:
This position requires an Adjustment to Blindness emersion, training program. The emersion experience helps new employees understand what's possible for people who are blind, DeafBlind or visually impaired by allowing them to experience it for themselves. The training takes place at an Adjustment to Blindness training center and can run up to 6-7 weeks.
