In this role, you will provide cross-functional, advanced Human Resources consulting services to managers and supervisors within the Minnesota Department of Education! In your role, you will provide guidance and expertise in the areas of labor relations, classification, recruitment, selection, compensation, contract interpretation, training, workforce planning, investigations, employment law, and conflict resolution for divisions and teams within the agency.  Duties include:

- Providing human resource consultation and guidance to MDE divisions/units and HR staff in HR management programs and practices so that programs and services are delivered consistently and equitably;

- Administering collective bargaining agreements and plans and providing guidance to agency staff and management on implications;

- Performing job classification and vacancy filling responsibilities;

- Leading and managing HR continuous improvement projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of professional experience in a Human Resources role

OR

A bachelor's or master's degree and three (3) years of professional experience in a Human Resources role.

Experience must include a minimum of work experience in three (3) of the following areas:

  *   Vacancy Filling
  *   Job Classification
  *   Bargaining Unit Contract Administration/Labor Relations
  *   Conducting Employment Investigations
  *   Succession Planning/Organizational Restructuring
  *   Compensation Setting
  *   HR Project Management
