The Labor Relations Consultant position for Minnesota IT Services will contribute to the advancement of the agency's mission, vision and objectives by performing a variety of advanced professional personnel management functions and services. This position provides assistance to the Labor Relations Manager, and the Human Resources Director to administer the functional responsibilities of the department to include:

  *   Consulting, advising and recommending to employees and management on a range of employee relations matter, performance management, labor relations and legal and policy compliance of complaints/grievances and conducting investigations on employee and labor relation matters
  *   Participate in the research and analysis of information to create, revise and implement agency employment policies and procedures
  *   Ensure application of personnel rules, contact language, compensation plans, state and federal laws, MN statutes, and all required rules, regulations, standards, and procedures
  *   Prepare and conduct training on employment law and various human resource related areas
  *   Develops and maintains a business partner relationship with executive management, directors, supervisors and managers, outside agency partners and with labor union leadership
