20 hours per week, Monday - Thursday

Job Description:
The Audio Specialist will primarily be responsible for engineering recording sessions with ABLE's volunteer readers, editing recorded audio, and assembling edited audio into audiobooks in accordance with National Library Service standards. This position requires a creative, literary-minded person with an ear for quality. This person will also be doing some self-recording of smaller quick turn-around assignments. ABLE offers a flexible and friendly environment; the ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere is essential. This is an in-person position, with daytime hours between Monday and Thursday.

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Position Type: Part-time, in office, regular business hours
Type of Employment: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
Schedule and conduct regular weekly in-person recording sessions with ABLE volunteer readers; edit and assemble audio recordings into National Library Service-approved audiobooks and other materials with Hindenburg ABC; sustain ongoing relationships with volunteers, marked by courtesy, respect, friendliness, and encouragement. Occasional reading aloud and recording of quick turn-around assignments will be necessary. Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma, post-secondary technology-related education preferred;
technological aptitude to work with digital audio hardware and software; experience directing and engineering recording sessions and working with volunteers; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to be flexible and comfortable working in a team-oriented setting.

Pay range: $17.50 to $19.00 per hour
