This independent human resources position serves as the Human Resources Director for a small agency encompassing human resources duties in their entirety.

This position exists to lead, direct and perform Human Resources (HR) strategic, tactical, and technical work by ensuring Explore Minnesota (EM) is an employer of choice, with a welcoming, inclusive, respectful, and collaborative culture. As a strategic partner, this position will develop and executive strategies that improve talent management including diversity, retention, and succession planning.

This position provides advanced professional consulting expertise to Explore Minnesota HR Staff and management in all aspects of human resources including position allocation, recruitment and selection, compensation, performance management, management consulting, labor contract interpretation, and training. Assist management in translating business needs into human resources decisions. Manage complex HR projects involving HR and other Explore Minnesota staff; provide leadership and guidance as a team lead when needed. Represent the department on statewide committees. Organize and manage workflow to ensure smooth, timely, and consistent delivery of all HR services across Explore Minnesota.
