Join the Minnesota Department of Health's Employee and Labor Relations team in this full-time, permanent position with responsibility to assist the Employee and Labor Relations Director for the administration of Labor Relations functions. In this role, you will provide guidance, support, and act as a respected business partner to supervisors and managers across the agency.  The MDH Labor Relations team values professional development, creative thinking, collaboration, and proactive approaches and response to Labor Relations work.

Working as a Labor Relations Consultant you will:

  *   Collaborate with and provide guidance to supervisors through various complex performance management situations.
  *   Complete intake and review workplace complaints, conduct workplace misconduct investigations, handle disputes, manage grievances, and support other Labor Relations functions on behalf of MDH.
  *   Participate in Enterprise-wide contract negotiations, as well as MDH supplemental negotiations during bargaining years.
  *   Provide guidance and consultation to employees, supervisors, and managers in the administration of labor agreements and plans as the subject matter expert.
  *   Maintain confidentiality and professionalism, with access to all confidential documents maintained in the Labor Relations office, and access to and use confidential bargaining strategies and data as defined in M.S. Statute 13.73.

This position will be filled at either the Labor Relations Consultant 1 or Labor Relations Consultant 2 level. Determination of classification will be made based on the selected candidates' qualifications and experience.
