ATTENTION APPLICANTS: This vacancy is being announced for two different job classes at the same time, Labor Relations Consultant 2 and Labor Relations Consultant 1. The final class and starting salary are dependent on the successful applicant's qualifications. This posting will be used to fill three vacancies.

This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

In this position, you will assist and support the Labor Relations team in administering MnDOT's labor relations function.  This includes, but is not limited to, handling disputes, conducting investigations, and providing direction and training to MnDOT managers and supervisors in the administration of labor agreements.  Additionally, this position is responsible for providing guidance and consultation to managers and supervisors on employee misconduct and other performance-related issues, as well as reviewing and updating HR policies.  This position participates in bargaining teams for labor contract negotiations.  The position will also have access to and use confidential bargaining strategies and labor relations data as defined in M.S. §13.37.
