We're seeking an Operations and IT Specialist to provide essential technical support for our talk show team and contribute to the success of our statewide broadcast network. Based in Iowa City, this role blends live audio production with IT and network operations - supporting everything from daily broadcasts and editing to automation systems and infrastructure maintenance. The Operations and IT Specialist provides vital technical support for Iowa Public Radio's talk show team, ensuring smooth daily broadcasts from our Iowa City studio. Responsibilities include prepping and testing equipment, running the sound board during live shows, editing audio segments, and supporting field recordings and live events. This role also assists with metadata management, coordinates automation for on-air content, and helps produce audio elements like promos and underwriting spots across IPR's News, Classical, and Studio One services.

In addition to production duties, this position supports IPR's broader IT infrastructure, including maintaining automation systems, administering server rooms, and ensuring reliable backups and disaster recovery plans. The specialist will also contribute to network security and performance - managing firewalls, user accounts, software updates, and monitoring for security risks. Occasional support for fundraising events and other operational needs rounds out this dynamic, hands-on role.
