Get Ready for the 2026 Midterm Elections
In the 2026 midterm elections, you may vote for federal, state, and local officials who make decisions affecting your community. These elections are called “midterms” because they take place halfway through a president’s four-year term.
Depending on where you live, your ballot may include races at several levels of government. These offices have different responsibilities, but each can influence the laws, programs, and public services Minnesotans rely on. Local officials help shape community services, while state and federal officials make decisions about laws, funding, and public programs.
For people with disabilities, those decisions may affect transportation, health care, housing, civil rights, and access to community services.
