      Hello everyone,
                  Happy back-to-school and back -to-work!
Our September meeting will be held this Saturday September 9, 2023 Using a hybrid model, with an in-person and a virtual option. The meeting will begin at 10:15 a.m. Please see below for the directions to the Penn Museum and the Zoom link for the meeting.

At this month's meeting, we will be discussing topics of importance to the blind community, nationally, state wide, and locally. We will be discussing legislation, fundraising, membership, and upcoming events, including our 4th annual Believe You Can! talent show. As in years past, this show is our Blind Equality Achievement Month event! Come to learn all about it and how you can be a part of making it a success.

Disability Pride Event - originally scheduled for this past June, it will now be taking place this Saturday September 9, 2023. It will be held on the Ben Franklin Parkway between 16th and 17th Streets. The event will start at 11:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. The Keystone Chapter will have a table at this event to provide education, awareness, and games for those attendees who do not know about our organization and the true capabilities of blind people. Additionally, our very own Esther Gillyard will be performing at this event! You won't want to miss her performance.

Know that this event will be concurrent with our monthly chapter meeting. Therefore, some of our members will be at the Disability Pride event. If you are interested in helping out at our chapter's table at the event, please contact Kat Bottner to let her know that you will be coming. 2024 Dues!!!

We are collecting dues for 2024 now. The dues for membership is $10.00. You may pay by cash, paypal, or by paper check.

  1.  If paying by cash, just bring it to the meeting.

  3.  If paying by paper check, please make it out to "Keystone Chapter, NFB of PA" and mail it to our treasurer David Goldstein at 1425 Parklane Road, Swarthmore, PA 19081.



  *   Please note, dues for 2024 MUST be paid by December 31, 2023 for membership for the following year!

Travel to the Penn Museum via SEPTA

Our new meeting location is the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, otherwise known as the Penn Museum. The museum is located at 3260 South Street in Philadelphia. It is accessible by SEPTA. The Penn Medicine Station is directly across the street from the museum and the following regional rail lines stop there, Airport Line, Manayunk/Norristown Line, Media/Elwyn Line, Warminster Line, West Trenton Line, and Wilmington/Newark Line. The following bus routes stop within a few blocks of the museum, 30, 40, 42, and 49. The following trolley lines stop near the museum, 11, 13, 34, and 36. The Market-Frankford line is also an option.
