Greetings to All:

Beginning October 1 <x-apple-data-detectors://0> , the Maryland Health
Connection will open online, by telephone and in-person for individuals
to enroll for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Through
the Maryland Health Connection, individuals can:

*       shop, compare and enroll in a health insurance plan;

* determine eligibility for federal subsidies to help cover
insurance costs; and

* determine possible eligibility for public health programs, such
as Medicaid and Maryland Children's Health Program (MCHP).

Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (MCDHHS), one
of six (06) Connector Entities in Maryland, is the Health Connector
Entity for Montgomery and Prince George's counties. As the Health
Connector Entity for the Capital Region, MCDHHS is responsible for
outreach and enrollment of uninsured residents in both counties. MCDHHS
is collaborating with 10 community agencies to serve the Capital Region.

MCDHHS and its 10 partner agencies have hired 70 Navigators and
Assisters. These individuals will be stationed in locations throughout
Prince George's and Montgomery counties, including our offices, to
enroll individuals in private plans through the Maryland Health
Connection or expanded Medicaid.

Who is eligible to enroll?

All legal residents living in the U.S. for more than five years, between
the ages of 18-64 who do not have access to health coverage through
their employer.

* Clients currently enrolled in Medicaid do not need to do
anything. They will be contacted when it is time to renew their
coverage.

* Active Primary Adult Care (PAC) enrollees will be automatically
transitioned to full Medicaid benefits.

* Medicare recipients are already covered and do not need to make
any changes.

Why is it important for individuals to enroll?

The individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act requires most
Americans to maintain at least 'minimum' health coverage.

Health insurance is know affordable for most people.

Where can individuals get information and enroll?

By Telephone 1.855.642.8572 (TOLL FREE) or 1.855.642.8573 (TTY)

Online www.marylandhealthconnection.gov
<http://www.marylandhealthconnection.gov/>

In-person Navigators and Assisters will be available in
different locations at various hours in both Prince George's and
Montgomery counties. Visit http://capitalhealthconnection.org
<http://capitalhealthconnection.org/> to find the most up to date
schedule of locations.

I am asking that you take time to review this information so that you
can proactively connect our clients to private health coverage or
expanded Medicaid.
