[MDABS] Get Excited! Free Dinner and Networking Opportunity in Two Days!

[Bridges Help Desk]

Today is the official first day of summer! Come celebrate with students across
the state on Thursday June 23.
We invite Maryland students ages 14-21 to join the Bridges Helpdesk
for a night of friends, food, and fun – and it’s completely free!
As part of this event, we will be giving out gift cards to the three
main food delivery apps – UberEats, GrubHub, and Door Dash. Everyone
will then have a chance to spend their gift card as we enjoy an
evening of connection and good eats, because nothing brings folks
together like warm weather and free food! This activity focuses on
using assistive technology to order the food, and participants are
encouraged to share about the experience as they go through the
process of ordering and receiving dinner.

Who?
Blind and low vision students ages 14-21 in Maryland

When?
June 23, 2022: We invite individuals who are new to ordering food
using apps or websites to join us at 5 PM. We will go over the basics,
and then we will begin passing out gift cards and ordering the food at
5:30 PM. More experienced users can join us at 5 to offer tips and
tricks, or can join us at 5:30 once the Ordering In 101 session is
complete.
