Hi Lauren again --
I agree -- for audio usage, my son also uses a Victor Stream reader and loves it. works really well.

        Hi-
I considered the kindle for my son too. But once I saw the actual device from a friend, I realized it is not designed for a low vision child.
My son's acuity is about the same as your daughter's, and there's no way he could use the kindle.
Matthew does use zoom text and a victor stream reader. He also has a laptop and acrobat reader. I recommend you go through the school system and have them provide it for your daughter.

I would be very careful. Before you buy a kindle make sure Joli can really use it. The controls are not accessible for many blind people. Perhaps she could operate it by using her vision. Most of us can not do this. Really test it out before you make the investment.

                  Hi all.

I am thinking of buying Joli (age 8 vision 20/400 with dyslexia) a kindle. I like that it can provide enlarged text another with a reader who reads the material out loud. I am worried that there might be a glare factor though with this. I am wondering if others have used this device and what your impressions are.

                  Thank you,
                  Lauren
