Webinar Opportunities from other Organizations

Using Your Senses to Present
Presented by Leanne Grillot, in Partnership with AER
November 17, 2020 – 12:00-1:00 PM EST
Presenting virtually? One of the things that’s most different about this past year is how much we’ve had to meet, and present, virtually. While we may know, or sense, that the biggest enemy of virtual presentations is the audience multitasking, learn how it helps to understand the role our senses play in that.

Think back to the last conference you attended in person. Now use all your senses. All of your senses – sight, touch, taste, smell, hearing – all experienced the same thing: “I’m at an event.” How do you recreate that feeling when people are in the comfort of their own home or contemplating multitasking at the work desk? Learn some strategies for making the most of the virtual environment and meeting those sensory needs of your audience.

The Communication Continuum
Presented by Leanne Grillot, in Partnership with AER
November 19, 2020 – 12:00-1:00 PM EST
There are many forms of symbol communication systems. Their purpose is to make communication easier for a student with a visual and multiple impairment who has difficulty with spoken language or difficulty using written language. The symbols are often highly individual but are linked to meaning for a particular student who does not have enough vision to use a visual symbol system. We are going to walk through three products by APH, the communication continuum, and the reasons for each step. <https://aph.us20.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f36877787e431c3edc0020ff5&id=d7156458bc&e=84675e66dd> Register Here.
