Audience: Classroom Teachers, Teachers of the Visually Impaired,
Paraprofessionals, Orientation and Mobility Specialists, and others
interested in the education of children who are blind or visually
impaired
    Date: December 15, 2009
    The Blind Skills
Specialist at the Heart of Missouri RPDC will be hosting a workshop
titled Assistive Technology Needs and Assessments for Students with
Visual Impairments on January 29, 2010, from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the
Heart of Missouri RPDC, #7 London Hall, University of Missouri Columbia
Campus.  The cost of the training is $65 which includes snacks, lunch,
and parking.
    The workshop will
offer an overview of current assistive technology options available for
students who are blind/visually impaired.
    Developing
and administering assistive technology assessments to determine student
needs will also be discussed.  Product demonstrations will be
included.  Continental breakfast, lunch, and parking hang tags will be
provided.
