This is a friendly reminder of our matching-gift campaign. Please make your donations (and send the receipt) as soon as possible...definitely before June 30!

The Minnesota affiliate will again match individual contributions made by Minnesota Federationists to our national White Cane, Jernigan, SUN, and tenBroek Funds between May 1 and June 30 up to a total of $6,000, in accordance with the vote at our 2021 state convention. Said differently: up to $6,000 from individuals is matched by up to $6,000 from the affiliate treasury!

In addition, there is overlap with the recently announced Dream Big: Give $25 Drive<https://nfb.org/get-involved/national-convention/give-25>. That means that if your donation is made starting May 16, you will be entered into a drawing for expenses to the 2025 national convention, $2,000 cash, or a monarch braille display.

Between May 1 through June 30, your contributions to our national funds will be matched by the Minnesota affiliate as long as you either mail a check to the affiliate or forward us a copy of your receipt to Jennifer Dunnam at jennifer.dunnam1829 at gmail.com<mailto:jennifer.dunnam1829 at gmail.com>

To donate:

  1. Donate online by credit card<https://nfb.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=45> or call Treasurer Jenifer Dunnam at 612-203-2738 for assistance
  2. Mail a check by following these steps:

     * Make the check payable not to the Minnesota affiliate but instead to the National Federation of the Blind
     * List the fund(s) to which you contribute in the memo line
     * Send the check to the National Federation of the Blind of Minnesota, 100 East 22nd Street, Minneapolis, MN 55404. The treasurer will collect the checks until June 30, then mail all the checks, along with the affiliate's matching check, to the national office.

Most importantly, we must receive a copy of your donation receipt or check by June 30 to be included in the match. You should email your receipt to our treasurer, Jennifer Dunnam at jennifer.dunnam1829 at gmail.com<mailto:jennifer.dunnam1829 at gmail.com>

Before June 30, you will receive an individual email confirming that we've received your emailed receipt or mailed check. If you don't hear from us, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you in advance; your contributions make the important work we do at all levels possible!

Here is a little more about the four funds:

White Cane Fund: These dollars go directly to the general treasury of the Federation.

Kenneth Jernigan Fund: The proceeds from this fund are used to bring a number of attendees to their first national convention. It is named in honor of our former president and longtime leader to promote attendance at the national convention, where so much inspiration and learning occur.

SUN Fund: These funds are being set aside in the event that they are needed to support the Federation during difficult times.

tenBroek Fund: These dollars go to the tenBroek Memorial Fund which owns the property at 200 East Wells at Jernigan Place in Baltimore for the benefit of blind people.

Thanks in advance,

Corbb
