[MusicTlk] College bands question

Hi Lisa,
As others have mentioned, most colleges have multiple ensembles. Most will have a symphonic band/concert band that you can play in. This is typically the main ensemble for music majors as opposed to marching band, which in my experience is usually an elective and a secondary ensemble for many people. Most schools may also have a wind ensemble, orchestra, jazz band, chamber ensembles, etc. I'm a music education major and play in my college band, and I marched in high school as well. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Chase Crispin

Hi all, so I’m thinking about starting school in August. My question is is there more than just one band for for colleges. I know they have a marching band, but it would be hard to March and play the flute and use my dog at the same time LOL. I was wondering if they had like a concert band or Psymbionic been as well as a marching band in most colleges.
