Steve,
No worries. I am sorry if I might have confused the issue. Your answer was
clear for my purposes none the less. Thanks.

Subject: Re: [nabentre] FAX to email solution
Albert,
I missed some of the early discussion on this so don't know if I am
understanding your question
completely. As I understood it, the problem was reading PDF's where the
pages are "scanned" and
therefore won't read in the Adobe reader which is also referred to as the
Adobe Acrobat Reader. If
earlier versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader say the document is empty but one
can see pages on the screen,
Adobe Acrobat Reader X or 10 will still not read those documents. The paid
version of Acrobat, as Jim
stated, has an option to "recognize" the characters in those documents and
make them accessible to a
screen reader. While Acrobat does this partly for accessibility, it also
does this so people and edit
PDF documents as well. Most PDF's do contain actual text and can be read
with the Adobe Acrobat Reader
and the paid version of Acrobat is not needed to read them.
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson
